Nordiska Kompaniet

Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) is a prestigious department store brand founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1902 by Josef Sachs. With a vision to create a "commercial and cultural theater" where the highest quality products were available under one roof, NK quickly became a cornerstone of Swedish retail and design

The first NK department store opened in Stockholm in 1915, housed in an iconic Art Nouveau building designed by architect Ferdinand Boberg. The store became a symbol of modernity and luxury, offering not only Swedish goods but also international brands, making it a cultural hub for shoppers. Its motto, "It is the customer who determines our actions," emphasized customer satisfaction and innovation.

NK is renowned for its pioneering spirit, introducing many "firsts" to the Swedish market, such as ready-to-wear fashion and interior design products. It also played a significant role in showcasing Swedish design, collaborating with legendary designers like Estrid Ericson, Axel Einar Hjorth and Josef Frank.
