Erik Tidstrand was a notable figure in Swedish design history, especially renowned for his work in lighting design during the early 20th century. He was the head of Nordiska Kompaniet’s (NK) lighting department from its inception in 1901 until his retirement in 1943. Tidstrand collaborated with prominent architects such as Axel Einar Hjorth and Ivar Tengbom, creating lighting for significant projects like Stockholm Concert Hall and M/S Kungsholm. His designs were celebrated internationally, featured in world exhibitions like Paris 1925 and Stockholm 1930, aligning with the Swedish Grace movement.
