A pine model 'Lovö' dining or console table by Swedish designer Axel Einar Hjorth for Nordiska Kompaniet with a beautifully aged tabletop.
Together with Carl Malmsten and others of his generation, Hjorth contributed to the flowering of Swedish design and its international recognition in the 1920s. His designs of the late 1920s/early 1930s combined traditional Swedish aesthetics with Modernism. Hjorth was the chief designer/architect at Nordiska from 1927 until 1938.
