A rare dining table by French architect, engineer and designer Jean Prouvé (1901 - 1984). The table has a stained oak top and the original frame of folded metal, with the tapering legs that are typical for Prouvé's designs. A similar table, with a Comblanchien top, was designed by Prouvé for the French Navy in 1946. A rectangular table in the same style was produced around 1942 for the sanatorium in Flavigny-sur-Moselle.
