Low 'chauffeuse' (fireside) lounge chair in elm for Les Arcs

Perriand, Charlotte, Lounge Chairs, France, 1960s

A low, foldable 'chauffeuse' (fireside) lounge chair in elm. This model was used at the Arc 1600 ski resort in Les Arcs (1967-69), built by a team of architects, including Charlotte Perriand. The chair is made of solid wood, giving the chair a sturdy and rustic look, matching the chalet style interior of the building.I

The model is generally attributed to Charlotte Perriand but not documented as such. They were used at Les Arcs and are at a minimum approved of by Perriand.

When desired, it can be professionally upholstered in our in-house atelier. We have pictures of an earlier set that we did reupholster available on request.
