Poulsen, Louis

Louis Poulsen is a Danish lighting manufacturer that was founded in 1874 by Ludvig R. Poulsen as a wine importing business. In 1892 Poulsen opened a new company, selling tools and electrical supplies. Poulsen died in 1906 and his nephew Louis took over the business and five years later the name of the company was changed to Louis Poulsen & Co.

The two most famous designers for the company were Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen.
