Late 19th century

A late 19th century 'Thebes' stool by Liberty & Co, England. The stool stands on three legs that curve out. It still has the original red paint, but with a strong wear.

The design of this stool is based on an ancient Egyptian type, dating to 1550-1300 BC. The stool was patented in 1884 and is one of three models by the firm that were inspired by Egyptian originals.
