French raw wood table

Dining tables, France, 1950s

A rectangular dining table in solid wood, made in the 1950s. Its rustic construction, with pegged joints, recalls the simple forms of mountain furniture.

The top shows a beautiful, irregular patina, bearing the marks of use and the passage of time. The slightly splayed legs are joined by an X-shaped stretcher.
