Gunnar Asplund Pair of Garden Chairs

A pair of garden chairs by Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund in grey metal. The chairs were designed in 1930 and produced by Iwan B. Giertz, Flen, Sweden. They feature a frame forged aluminium frame with ash slatted seating and backrest. One chair is labeled by Giertz.

The model was designed for and exhibited at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930. The chairs were used mainly at the Festplatsen and the press area, but also at the 'Ellida' restaurant.
