Eduard Cuypers (1859 - 1927) was a Dutch architect and designer. He was educated at the office of his uncle Pierre Cuypers and in 1881 he started his own office in Amsterdam. Apart from offices and houses, he mostly designed train stations. Around 1900 he started an atelier for interior design, Het Huis (The house), which he ran for a decade. As a proponent of the idea of the Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art), he believed that the architect was responsible for the exterior as well as the harmonized interior of a building. For a couple of years, he also led a magazine with the same name, focused on interior design.
The collection of Bloomberry has been driven by the cultural reference between architecture, art and design.
The quality of our collection is reflected in the sophistication of craftsmanship and the character of the scars of time. Our restoration workshops are built around the same principal and work to the highest degree of craftsmanship. Bloomberry is housed in a former textile factory located near Maastricht.
