A studio crafted console table or (vanity) desk made of three 4 cm (1.5") thick maple burl slabs, by Oregon woodworker Michael Elkan.
Elkan strove to create simple and functional pieces that showed the beauty of the wood. This piece is made from a single tree, to create a harmonious flow. Michael Elkan (1942 – 2014) was an American designer, craftsman and artist. After a career in the fashion industry, he started his woodwork studio in Oregon in 1980. He ran his studio until 2002, when he went on to explore other creative paths, like architecture. His body of work includes boxes, furniture and sculptures. We have several items by Elkan available.
