A model 'Monachella' floor lamp, designed in 1953 by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, Italy. The lamp has a cast iron base and a chrome-plated brass stem with an adjustable black lacquered aluminum shade.
The Monachella lamp takes its name from the black veil worn by nuns. The lamp was designed at the same time Caccia Dominioni was working on the residence for a women’s religious institute in Milan.
