Stockmann-Orno

Stockmann-Orno (also known as Orno Stockmann or Stockmann Orno A.B.) was a Finnish lighting manufacturer founded in 1921 in Helsinki. It became part of the Stockmann company in 1936, and relocated its factory to Kerava in 1937.

Orno is noted for its collaborations with Finnish designers such as Bertel Lindholm, Gunilla Jung, Gunnel Nyman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, and Yki Nummi. Its output in the mid-20th century combined Scandinavian modern aesthetics with functional lighting forms, often using metals, glass, enamel, and later plastics.

In the mid-1980s, Orno was sold by Stockmann to the Swedish firm ASEA and later became Thorn-Orno. The original factory ceased operations in 2001, though some of its designs continue to be produced under successor companies.
