Piet Zwart was a Dutch photographer, typographer, and industrial designer. Zwart studied painting and architecture in Amsterdam from 1902 to 1907. In 1913 he met De Stijl architect Jan Wils, for whom Zwart went on to work as a draftsman. Among Wils’ clients was the Bruynzeel company, for which Zwart designed some interiors with Vilmos Huszár. After leaving Wils’ office in 1922, Zwart kept on working on projects for Bruynzeel.
