Robert Roakes (1931 - 2022) was an American woodworker and furniture designer. He learned the craft from his father, who started the family woodworking business, Merritt Roakes and Sons, in Falmouth (Maine) in 1954. Robert moved to Oxford, Maine, where he started the Village Woodworker company, specialized in producing stools, until his retirement.
