Pair of prototype chairs by Dutch architect J.G. Athmer

Athmer, Ir.J.G.
Side Chairs

A pair of mid-century Modern prototype chairs by Dutch engineer and architect Ir. J.G. Athmer. The chairs stand on a metal frame with a brown leather upholstery. Very rare pieces in a mint condition.

These chairs have a molded fiberglass shell and are part of a full series of chairs Athmer developed. He offered his designs and production process to Wagemans & Van Tuinen (now Artifort). They come with extensive documentation and correspondence, which is historic material and very educational research material on both the processes and communications at the time.
