A bench by Holger Jacobsen from circa 1936. The bench is made of stained beech with a seating and backrest of woven beech strips.
The bench has most recently been used in the chapel of Assistens Kirkegård (cemetery), Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen designed a reconstruction in 1916. We have a second bench available.
Holger Alfred Jacobsen (1876 - 1960) was a Danish architect, who mostly worked in the neoclassical style. His best known building is the Stærekassen building, for the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen (1931). He also designed a number of churches and buildings for cemeteries.
The collection of Bloomberry has been driven by the cultural reference between architecture, art and design.
The quality of our collection is reflected in the sophistication of craftsmanship and the character of the scars of time. Our restoration workshops are built around the same principal and work to the highest degree of craftsmanship. Bloomberry is housed in a former textile factory located near Maastricht.
