Oy Boman AB was a Finnish furniture manufacturer based in Turku, founded in 1871 as N. Boman Steam Carpentry by master carpenter Nikolai Boman. Under the direction of his son, Carl-Johan Boman (1883–1969), the company evolved from traditional craftsmanship to modern functionalist design.
Known for its elegant sofas, lounge chairs, and refined case pieces in birch and ash, Boman’s work combined high craftsmanship with light, balanced forms. The firm exhibited internationally and held a royal warrant to the Swedish court. Acquired by Wärtsilä in 1955, Oy Boman AB ceased operations in 1967, leaving a lasting legacy in Finnish modern furniture design.
The collection of Bloomberry has been driven by the cultural reference between architecture, art and design.
The quality of our collection is reflected in the sophistication of craftsmanship and the character of the scars of time. Our restoration workshops are built around the same principal and work to the highest degree of craftsmanship. Bloomberry is housed in a former textile factory located near Maastricht.
