Noguchi, Isamu

(1904 - 1988)

Isamu Noguchi was an American artist and landscape architect. He was the son of a Japanese poet and an American writer. After his studies, he opened his own studio in 1927. Apart from his early studies, he traveled the world and took in several different influences. He worked for Constantin Brancusi in Paris, studied drawing in China and pottery in Japan. He created sculptures and designed gardens, playground, furniture and lighting.
