Les 2 Potiers was a French ceramic studio, where the couple Michelle Bargoin-Serre (1936) and Jacques Serre (1934-2016) produced vases, bowls, tables and other objects between 1956 and 1970.
They met at the School of Fine Arts in Clermont Ferrand, after which they decided to combine their talents and started a workshop in the nearby Château de Chazeron. In contrast with the bright colored glazings their contemporaries used, Les 2 Potiers often chose more subdued tones. Afther their separation in 1970, Jacques and Michell (she changed her name from Michelle) continued to produce pieces on their own; Jacques often worked with enameled lava and Michell focused on more sculptural work.
