Friis & Moltke

Founded in 1955 by architects Knud Friis and Elmar Moltke Nielsen in Aarhus, Friis & Moltke is one of Denmark’s leading architectural practices. The firm’s early work is noted for its mild Brutalism—robust forms in concrete and brick—balanced with the clarity and humanism of Scandinavian Modernism. Over the decades, Friis & Moltke has created a diverse body of work ranging from cultural institutions and hotels to residential projects, stadiums, and churches.
