Eisler, Martin

(1913 - 1977)

Martin Eisler (1913-1977), the son of art historian Max Eisler, was born in Vienna, where he studied architecture and design at the School of the Applied Arts. Due to his jewish background, he had to move to Argentina in 1938 and after that to Brazil. Here he met Italian designer Carlo Hauner (1927-1996). The two started the furniture company Forma, to produce their designs.

He won the Milanese Compasso d’Oro.award for his Reversível and Costela chairs.
