Bellmann, Hans

Hans Bellman was born in Switzerland and studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau from 1931 to 1933. After obtaining his diploma, he worked as an architect in the studio of Mies van der Rohe. He returned to Switzerland in 1934. where he collaborated with Wohnbedarf AG in Zurich until 1938, working on housing and furnishing issues. In 1948 Bellmann set up his own business in Zurich. True to his modernist training, Bellman designed furniture with a focus on structure and simplicity.
