Pair of Axel Einar Hjorth nightstands for Nordiska Kompaniet

A pair of nightstands or bedside tables by Nordiska Kompaniet. They feature fluted doors with brass handles. Each one has four rounded drawers inside. The marble tops are cut out from one slab, so the vain runs through when positioned next to each other. 

They are labeled by Nordiska with serial number 'NK 40910 C 35418', indicating they were made in 1937, under the supervision of Axel Einar Hjorth, who was the head of the furniture department from 1927 to 1938.
