Olsen, Hans

(1919 - 1992)

Hans Olsen was a Danish furniture designer. He was trained as a cabinetmaker in 1941 under Peder Pedersen, and graduated from the School of Arts and Craft in 1944. After this, he graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Arts under Kaare Klint. Furniture School. Olsen opened his own studio in 1953 and designed a wide range of furniture. He combined influences from Scandinavian Modernism with the experimental works by Charles and Ray Eames and Eero Saarinen.
