Larsen, Ejnar and Aksel Bender Madsen

(1916 - 2000)

Aksel Bender Madsen (1916 - 2000) and Ejner Larsen (1917 - 1987) were Danish furniture designers. Madsen, after training as a cabinetmaker, attended the Furniture School at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1940. After this, he worked for the architects Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen until 1943. Larsen followed the same trajectory and worked with Mogens Koch and Palle Suenson after graduating. The two, having met at the Academy, started their own design studio in 1947.
