Jakobsson, Hans-Agne

(1919 - 2009)

Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior decorator and designer. After finishing an apprenticeship as a carpenter, he studied architecture in Gothenburg and began his career as an industrial designer at General Motors. After this, he became an assistant to the prominent furniture designers Carl Malmsten and Werner West. In 1951 he founded his own company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, first in Åhus and later in Markaryd. There he not only created lighting designs but also candlesticks, pieces of furniture and other objects.
