Candilis, Georges, Blomstedt, Anja, Side Chairs, France, 1960s

A Georges Candilis & Anja Blomstedt model 'Lattes' chair, made of ash with aluminum angle brackets. This piece was part of a large lot of items from the Les Carrats resort in Port-Leucate, France. The resort was designed in 1968 by Candilis and for the furniture he collaborated with Finnish interior architect Blomstedt. The furniture was produced by the Sentou workshop and was designed to be cheap and easy to disassemble and transport.

Georges Candilis (1913 - 1995) was a Greek-French architect. In 1945 he started to work for Le Corbusier, where he was involved in the building of the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille. He rose to fame with the buildings he designed with his partners Alexis Josic and Shadrach Woods.

We also have a larger chair and stool from this series available.
