A very rare pendant lamp by Paavo Tynell and Johan Sigfrid Sirén, exclusively commissioned for the parliament building in Helsinki. The lamp has a large opaline glass shade, hanging from four nickel-plated metal rods. The metal frame was designed by Sirén and the glass shade by Tynell.
The lamp was used in the cafeteria of the Finnish parliament building in Helsinki, which was designed by Sirén (1926-31). Sirén saw the building as a complete work of art and he also was in charge of the furnishing and lighting of the building. For the lighting he collaborated with Tynell and his company Taito.
We have four of these lamps available in total.
