The Swiss architect and designer couple Robert Haussmann (1931) and Trix Haussmann-Högl (1933) have been working together since 1967.
Robert studied at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, but also worked, amongs other jobs, for Gerrit Rietveld to broaden his skills. After the death of his father in 1955, Robert took over his furniture store with his brother Peter and mother Helene. Together with Peter, he opened a second shop in Zurich's Oberdorf in 1956 (Haussmann & Haussmann), where Robert's studio for interior architecture and product design was also located.
Trix, coming from a family of architects, studied architecture at the ETH Zurich. Her first in marriage interrupted her studies, but she resumed in 1959 and graduated in 1967.
