Colonieu, Alice

(1924 - 2010)

Alice Victorine Antoinette Colonieu was a French ceramicist, painter and sculptor.

She joined the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille where she received several awards. Thereafter, she studied ceramics at the School of Artistic Training Fontcarrade Montpellier. Her ceramics are characterized by heavy creations, bright colors made with pigeon and always without mold. In 1953 and 1954, she exhibited at the Salon des Arts Décoratifs and became a member of the Federation of Crafts. Her career is marked by commissions from great designers like Jean Royère or Jules Leleu. At the end of her life, she turns to painting and sculpture.
